Brisbane’s funkiest wedding band. Our performances are an expression of our love for good music and entertaining. Our goal is to make your special vision come true. Funk, pop, blues, rock n roll, disco, jazz, country, folk, and punk, Silk ’N’ Oak can play and combine almost anything you want. With 11 years of experience performing together, Silk ’N’ Oak have honed the ability to capture any room in just the right way.
We bring you raw live music. The Silk ‘N’ Oak Wedding band is not a large collective. We are a small group where the core members have 8 years of intimate experience touring and performing together. This means the experience you get is polished, clean, full of tight improvisation, professional performances, and genuine in-the-moment musical interaction.
PACKAGE OPTIONS:
Ceremony:
Solo acoustic, duo with bass and trio with cello/keys and female vocal. the perfect sensitive accompaniment for your ceremony. Includes 3-4 song choices.
Canapés:
Acoustic pop: solo, duo, trio. Jazz trio/quartet
Reception:
3-8 piece band playing songs everyone loves and keeping the dance floor full. Includes first dance songs if desired. Usually 2-4hrs performance time with flexible sets and timing. Can include background music, and/or music playback before and in between speeches & formalities).
Add ons:
DJ between sets, microphones for speeches & MC
All packages include top of the industry sound and lighting production - making your dance floor feel alive - and the photos pop!
Instrument options: guitar, bass, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, drums, cello, violin, male & female vocals.

“We were absolutely blown away by the act from Silk n’ Oak. These guys are NOT your traditional boring wedding band that just plays the same old classics, half heartedly. They are the total opposite.
They were ready to 100% dive into the performance, busting solos here and there, sweating up a storm and keeping the energy at an all time high.
That’s what I wanted, really. I told my wife I didn’t want just a band that would pop up when you google ‘wedding bands’ who play boring hits and just do it for the cash. I wanted a young band that just loved what they do. That was Silk n’ Oak and it showed on the night bigtime.
We hired them to play at our wedding as a 5 piece band after hearing them in the city, and watching them get the crowd moving.
From the moment they started playing, the dance floor was over 100% full until the end of the night. Over 3 hours of non-stop dancing from the crowd.
They didn’t even take a break as the guys in the band told me “if everyone is getting into it we just won’t stop” - the dedication here is something you can’t get anywhere else.
It was honestly probably the highlight of the night for most guests and for myself and my new wife. Easily, it was the best money we spent when we think about all the associated costs that come with a wedding.
On the night, almost every conversation with guests involved “How good is this band!” as the thing they said just after congratulating us.
Aside from the energy they brought, their talent was incredible. From the lead singer all the way through these guys are probably the best band I’ve heard live in a very very long time and I’m often out listening to live music across Brisbane.
On the night, they even let me come up and play harmonica with them on stage for their rendition of “Piano Man!” which was an absolute highlight.
If you are considering whether you have a band, have one. And if you are considering if it’s Silk n’ Oak - definitely choose them. I absolutely am so glad we picked them, and feel lucky that we stumbled upon them on a night out and that they would play our wedding.
I plan on asking them if they will play again at my 30th where we don’t have noise restrictions!!
